Incidentally, Shanker- Jaikishen favourite raga was Bhairavi. Out of the total number of songs that they composed at least half of them were in Bhairavi. In the antara of ‘Pyar Hua Iqraar Hua’, there is a line ‘Raaton dason dishaon se kahengi apni kahaniya’. Now Jaikishan felt that the common man could understand four direction but not ten! Shailendra, however, refused to change the line saying that we should not underestimate the intellect of the public. The public proved him right. The song with Raj and Nargis under the ummbrella on a rainy evening had Raj Kapoor’s children too. They had just come to attend the shoot and were incorporated into the shoot itself! However, a little more than five decades after the song was picturized, the image of Raj-Nargis under a black umbrella still remains in the viewers’ heart. Almost four decades after the film, the song was even utilized to promote a contraceptive in India.” Ziya Us Salam, reprinted in Ziya Us Salam (Editor).’Housefull: The Golden Age of Hindi Cinema’.
